Sailing from Long Beach Cruise Terminal and the LA World Cruise Center
Search for cruises from Los Angeles and cruises from Long Beach and you will find the same market: two terminals eight miles apart serving 18 million Southern Californians. Carnival's geodesic dome terminal, the old home of the Spruce Goose, is the busiest single-line terminal on the West Coast, sending ships to Catalina, Ensenada and the Mexican Riviera every week.
San Pedro's World Cruise Center handles everyone else: Princess runs its Mexican Riviera and Hawaii programs here, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian rotate seasonal Mexico sailings. The 7 night Mexican Riviera loop (Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta) is the flagship route, and winter departures make it the West Coast's sun escape.
Season: Year round at both terminals.

Both terminals charge about $20 per day. Long Beach parking is in a structure beside the dome and sells out on holiday weekends, so pre-book on Carnival's site. San Pedro has ample lots plus cheaper independent options along Harbor Boulevard from $14.
Where to stay the night before
Hotels around Long Beach's Rainbow Harbor put you five minutes from the Carnival terminal with an aquarium and waterfront dinner to fill embarkation eve. For San Pedro departures, the Doubletree and Crowne Plaza run park and cruise packages that beat paying for parking separately.
