Parking at the port
With no homeport sailings there is no cruise parking to plan in Charleston. If you drive to Jacksonville instead, JAXPORT parking runs about $17 per day. Norfolk's Cedar Grove lot is about $20 per day.
Where to stay the night before
Turn the drive into a two-stop trip: a night in Charleston's French Quarter before driving to Jacksonville the next morning is a genuinely better vacation than a 4am departure day. Hotels near JAXPORT itself are limited, so most cruisers stay near Jacksonville airport.
