Bermuda cruises sail April through October from Northeast ports: New York, Bayonne, Boston, Baltimore and Norfolk. The signature format docks the ship three days at the Royal Naval Dockyard, turning it into your hotel on the island. Fares run $459 to $1,700 per person for 5 to 7 nights.

## Current sailings and pricing

| Itinerary | Length | Line | From (pp) | Note |

| Bermuda from New York | 7 nights | Norwegian Cruise Line | $649 | |

## Why Bermuda cruising is its own format

Most cruises give you eight hours in a port; Bermuda gives you three days. Because the island sits alone in the Atlantic, itineraries sail two days out, tie up at the Royal Naval Dockyard from Wednesday-ish to Friday-ish, then sail two days home. The ship becomes a docked hotel with a pink-sand beach commute: Horseshoe Bay is a short bus or taxi ride, Hamilton a ferry across the sound, and the whole island reachable on a $35 multi-day transport pass.

That structure is why Bermuda runs suit first-time cruisers nervous about seasickness (four gentle sea days, three flat ones), families who hate tender-boat logistics, and anyone who wants an actual destination vacation with a cruise wrapped around it.

## Choosing your departure port

| Port | Typical length | From | The read |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| New York (Manhattan) | 7 nights | $649 | The classic, most sailings, Norwegian's home run |
| Bayonne (Cape Liberty) | 5 to 7 nights | $459 | Royal Caribbean, easiest by car, cheapest entry |
| Boston | 7 nights | $649 | New England's weekly summer slot |
| Baltimore | 6 to 7 nights | $549 | Drive-to for the Mid-Atlantic, cheapest parking |
| Norfolk | 6 nights | $549 | Carnival's southern take on the route |

## Season and the honest weather note

The season runs April to October. May, June and September are the sweet spots: warm, cheaper and outside peak hurricane exposure. July and August bring the hottest beach weather at peak prices. Bermuda sits far enough north that hurricane disruptions are rarer than in the Caribbean, but September and October sailings should still be booked with flexible expectations and, ideally, the insurance our cruise insurance guide covers.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a passport for a Bermuda cruise?

Closed-loop round trips from US ports allow a birth certificate plus photo ID for US citizens. A passport is strongly recommended, and required if you ever need to fly home from the island. Full rules in our passport guide.

### How much money do I need in Bermuda?

Bermuda is genuinely expensive ashore: a casual lunch runs $25 to $40 a head and taxis are metered high. The saving grace is the docked ship: eat breakfast and dinner aboard and the island becomes affordable.

### Which beach should I go to from the cruise port?

Horseshoe Bay is the famous pink-sand postcard and priced like it. Regulars split for adjacent Warwick Long Bay or Church Bay, the same sand with half the crowd. Prices checked: August 2026.
